Two docs! One day!

Monday, January 7 is a big day for me.

At 9 AM across Canada, my documentary “To Have and To Hold” will air on CBC Radio The Current. You can listen live by turning on your local CBC Radio One station, stream it, or wait for the podcast that should be posted sometime later in the day.
“To Have and To Hold” tells the story of Evelyn Amony and the eleven and a half years she spent as Joseph Kony’s forced wife in Northern Uganda and South Sudan.

Also on Monday, the National Film Board will unveil my short animated documentary “Stronghearted.” This film animated by the talented Kunal Sen shows a pivotal moment in young Evelyn’s life — when she nearly drowned but ended up coming face-to-face with Kony. That will be available at NFB.ca early Monday.

I’ll post updated links after they are released.

I am very proud of this special episode of CBC's national show Spark that I produced with the Spark team and Duncan McCue from The National.

“We live in stories. What we are is stories. We do things because of what is called character, and our character is formed by the stories we learn to live in. Late in the night we listen to our own breathing in the dark and rework our stories. We do it again the next morning, and all day long, before the looking glass of ourselves, reinventing reasons for our lives. Other than such storytelling there is no reason to things.”

-William Kittredge, “Doing Good Work Together”
